What is the meaning of life?

I don’t know.  Perhaps we’re here to learn and grow.  I’m now 100 years old.  I still have a loving wife, good children and grandchildren.  My long time close friends are all gone.  Our younger acquaintances claim we’re their inspiration; but except for one or two, we don’t see them often.  They spend their time with contemporaries.  My life has been well-lived.  It has been interesting and I’ve had many joyful moments.  My children make the time and effort to spend time with us.  Today, our grandson picked us up and drove us to a birthday dinner for our now 11 year old great granddaughter and his mother-in-law.

Expect for helping to raise funds for our local veterans’ hospital and other veterans’ activities by offering poppies at our neighborhood grocery, I’m no longer an active participant.  I was very involved when I was younger in several groups.
